24 Jul Converting to Digital
Latest stats show digital is taking over
Uk ad spending increased by 3.7% in 2016 to £21.37 billion. Digital ad spend was hugely responsible for this increase, while traditional media ad spend declined.
Mobile ad spend increased by 45.4% according to www.eMarketer.com, with digital ad spend overall hitting over £10 billion.
National newspapers saw a 10% drop in ad spend, and magazine sales fell 6.8% for the year.
What does this prove?
Well, simply put it proves what we have known for some time, the world is converting to digital. Ofcom reported that at the end of 2016, 71% of adults in the UK used a smartphone, and 66% of adults use their mobile handset to access the internet. Ofcom also report that the average time spent per month browsing online is 30 hours and 42 minutes.
30+ hours of people’s time is a lot of time, and the perfect opportunity to place ads in front of them.
Adwords has developed considerably offering advertising for mobile, the ability to specifically tailor and monitor campaigns, and control where ads are placed within the Google network.
Advertising on Google search is ideal for businesses of all sizes wanting leads and sales. Carefully planned campaigns allow us to place ads in front of people at the very moment they are looking for your product or service. Ads can also be geographically or demographically targeted.
Connect with users by targeting people who have visited your website, they might have looked on your site but no followed through with a purchase or interaction. Remarketing allows for highly relevant messages to be shown to people who have visited your pages whilst they browse the internet. The statistics showed that people spend almost a full working week browsing the internet so remarketing may be an opportunity you don’t want to miss.
